88 XJ turn signals not working
PLEASE HELP!
I have a 1988 wagoneer limited that I recently purchased. When I bought it the turn signals would blink very slowly, then as a couple days went by they got a little quicker but would occasionally not work. Then a couple weeks later they stopped working all together. My hazards and everything else does work. I am no mechanic by any means, but I'm pretty good at figuring things out and fixing them. I have done a few things hoping it would work, but to no avail. The things I have done listed:
-cleaned all turn signal sockets.
-new bulbs with dielectric grease
-checked all fuses that I could find
-replaced multifunction switch in steering column (what a major pain in the ### for it to not work)
-replaced the large round yellow and silver flashers on fuse panel
I am stumped and cannot afford to take it to a mechanic. If anyone could help I'd be forever grateful! Thank you in advance!
