So i gotta get new batteries for my voltmeter before i can check out the tail lights, but i put in a new bulb for the blinker, and it still doesnt work. also, when i turn either blinker on the liights on the dash do not flash, only stay lit.
Im guessing they dont flash because of the blinker on the left not coming on, but i guess im gonna have to check with the voltmeter on the turn signal as well.
Hopefully im not going to have to dig through more wires...... i hate electrical problems...
worse comes to worse ill wire the tail lights into the headlights so they switch on like the headlights do, and say screw it to the blinkers i dont ever use em anyways haha.
but id much rather fix it right..

So I replaced the key lock cylinder, and the key turns back to accessory just fine now... but the engine still doesn't shut off. I replaced the starter solenoid as well. I'm completely stuck here. Anyone have any new ideas?

WantACherokee - Do this to see if your problem is like mine, when you get the engine to shut off, and the key is in the "off" position, are the dash lights lit up like your key is in the "on" position?
If so, try disconnecting ignition switch to see if the lights go off. If they do, you more than likely have a faulty switch.
If they don't go off, you may have some wires touching in your ignition switch wiring harness like i had.
and lastly, if the lights DONT come on, my guess would be the key rack.

I didnt actually "Find" them, but thats about the only thing left it could be, i wired a battery disconnect ( like the one you posted) and a switch to the fuel pump relay.
So now my engine shuts off with the fuel switch and i can kill the battery so it doesnt drain.
Not properly fixed, but good enough for a 900 toy.

Very true. lol.
Got a question for ya free, my "parking lamps" fuse keeps blowing. do you know what runs through this fuse, and would a bulb be causing this?

Fixed mine... believe it was the ignition switch causing the problem. Got a kill switch all installed and everything and then it just started working normally again. What's weird is the new ignition switch did not help until 1) I put the steering wheel back on and 2) I drove the Jeep around the block. I have no idea why but just glad it works now. Plus now I have the kill switch as a backup / for added security.

Spoke too soon... after installing the new parts some times it turns off with the key and sometimes not. When it doesn't turn off with the key I have to use the kill switch I wired to the coil. My taillights and dash lights are not working also. I have brake lights, headlights and turn signals but no tail lights (I will have to check and see if the front running lights are working- I don't think so though).
Back to the drawing board I guess. I did replace the ignition switch so my only thought now is it could either be the key rack, or something touching in the wiring harness that shouldn't be...? If that's the case how would I even begin to find out where?
