88 cherokee wont stay running

On the driver's side inner fender near the air cleaner is a white ceramic doo-hinky about 3" long with a wire going to each end. It's called a fuel pump ballast resistor. If it's bad, the Jeep will start and run for only a few seconds and then die. Make sure the connectors are tight on the resistor and it's okay to bypass it if the resistor is bad.

$15 meter or expensive guessing on sensors etc. We need to know if there's power to the fuel pump in the "run" position after the "start" position. Hey, you're getting a free education........

ya I thought I was doing good got it for free it had been sitting for 6 years they said it was a bad wire harness got it home poured gas in the throttle body and it fired up and ran new tank and pump and gas in tank and it ran good now it wont run
I did run a new hot wire from the fuse box to the radio so it would work
