Default 88 Cherokee wont hold idle.

I have a problem and was hoping that one of you could help me with this.
My 1988 Cherokee Limited will turn over and start but will immediately die within 1 second of it starting.

well..... first I would check the MAP sensor (center firewall) check the hose going to it also and the connector on the back of the throttle body. Also have you tried giving it gas as soon as it starts? If there is lots of smoke and/or a stumble it's the MAP sensor

fuel pressure regulator... pull the hose off the fuel rail (does it smell like gas)
