Default 88 cherokee

88 Cherokee #1 rear end sounds dry checked gear oil was fine #2 when i back up i hear clunk.#3 the back fills like it swerves

could be bad or loose u bolts. check to see if theyre all there or rotted or tight.

the clunk could be your rear u-joint on the d-shaft is going bad... and check if you even have a rear sway-bar on top of checking the u-bolts... also tire pressure (if the tires really low)
