Hi all,

I have an 87 Cherokee, recently the drivers window regulator broke. Instead of trying to fool with the tricky replacement of the regulator, I just went ahead and pulled an entire door off a donor Jeep at the junk yard.

The donor Jeep was a 1991 Cherokee. The wires are all different colors. Currently the circuit, even hooked up to the old door's couplers, isn't working any window at all. The other 3 windows worked prior to taking the door off.

The Haynes manual wiring diagram is pretty vague on the wiring of the windows. Fuses have been checked, the master switch was getting power (checked with a voltmeter). The likelihood of a short is slim as the windows worked before.

- Why would the other 3 windows have stopped working?

- How would you go about wiring the '91 door to the '87 chassis?

- Also I noticed a mysterious wire coming from the '91's motor, the wires are green/reddish and black. I see no place for this to connect even on the donor door. No such wire comes out of the '87's motor. What is this?
