hi everyone,

This is my fist post and i know this a Cherokee site but my uncle has a 87 wrangler(i know bad year) and he cant get power to the ignition. He thinks it is the ignition relay but cant find it on the jeep. If any one has any ideas on where it may be your help would be greatly appreciated.

 

What ignition the switch or the key

 

he cant get power to any thing except the headlights which will come on with the key off. He told me that some one has jacked with the wiring on it and its a mess. He had to replace the starter and there was a wire that was taped to something and and it pulled loose when he was taking it of the solenoid but he has no idea where it came loose at. I haven't seen it but I'm going to try to go over there to day to look at it. He told me that nothing in that Jeep matches the manual so he doesn't know where it is

 

Neutral safety switch may be bad.

 

if its that bad locate a wiring harness for the jeep and start fresh
