Hey All. I'm considering tearing into my AC (dealer installed) system. This is one area of repair I've never tackled. Currently it works, but only just. No noises from compressor, no electrical issues. Seems likely to just need a recharge and replacement of common components like receiver dryer and orifice tube? I would not consider this getting so close to winter but my heater core was badly clogged last year and despite flushing it I'm still not getting the amount of heat that I should. I figured I may as well tear into the AC system since I'll be taking it partially apart to get to the heater core. Anyone got suggestioins? Conversion to R13? Other components to look at? Since I'll be replacing components anyway should I just reassemble hoses and leave the AC be until spring? Any input will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
