87 cherokee pioneer fuel pump replacent choices
My 87 Cherokee 4.0 (204K miles) needs new fuel pump assembly with sending unit. Among all the brand choices is there a consensus of opinion that suggests the best aftermarket choice and the ones to avoid? One guy says Brand X is the best while another guy says Brand X is a piece of crap. Can't get Mopar one for it. One guy says Airtex improved their product recently and is now a good choice. Bought a Carter from NAPA but the alignment of the strainer and float diverged and wouldn't allow it to fit in the tank hole.
I read a lot of the previous forum posts but am still in the dark.

Bosch & Delphi have good reputations. I have heard that about Airtex as well. I have had one in my family van for about 5 years now, with no problems.
