I had a similar problem with my 88 comanche. Dash lights and parking lights did not work. I had to rewire my dash lights and remove a wire from my headlight switch connector. Not sure which wire but with the wire connected the parking lights and dash lights would cut out. The speedo is mechanical. Could be worn out and need a new speedo cable.

The big connector that plugs in behind the fuse box under the hood. Sometimes they need cleaning, there's a bolt in the center of it that you cannot see.. Should be a 1/4" or 9/32.

both of my jeeps have had the bouncy speedo. The cable needs some lube.
