92 xj speedo is cold natured
my 92 xj's speedometer doesn't start working for 5-10 min in cold weather. no problems in warm weather(above 50-60 degrees). luckily i live in the south. it has always started working after a while, but i'd still like to know where to look when the final day comes. it's a 4wd sport model if that makes a difference. thanks.

I got a gauge cluster from a 92 with 145000 on it if you end up needing it. Pay for shipping and like 5 bucks and it's yours. It's the one without the rpm gauge

no sorry, it's a pita to take the cluster out on the pre 97 xjs. That's the one thing that's harder in the old style xj's. It's a pita to get to the radio too. But I would try the vehicle speed sensor(vss) I think it's in the side of the transfer case like someone said just above me in the thread. Maybe it's just gummed up and can use a cleaning?

thanks, i'll give the speed sensor a look as soon as i get all the stuff repaired that i tore up this week end(left rear tire and fender flare(bushwacker)and clearance light under headlight on driver side) deer hunting was rather expensive this week! by the way, i'm in the market for a set of used 33 or 35 x 12.50 x15 tires if anyone has a line on em. thanks again.
