Ok my buddy just got an 86 xj with a 2.8 in it .......... and yeah I know its crap but its his. Anyways it started to blow out a freeze plug on it. What my question is how much of a bi*** is it gonna be to change them?

 

It's as easy as prying out the old one and poundin' in the new one. If clearance allows, drill a hole in the plug and pry it out with an 'anything' Drill carefully, they're pretty thin and you don't want to go thru the block. Take the old one up to auto parts to compare size. You can get brass ones if you like.. no rust. Be sure to clean up the block sealing surface, you don't want it to leak.

 

Ok I know its gonna be a pain from the looks of it but maybe when I get to look at it in the day light I'll be able to tell better. Is there by chance any on the back of the motor cause I know on some v8's they have em
