85 to 96 Transmission Swap
I Have a 96 Cherokee and I was going to get an 85 parts car. The real part I am after is the transmission though. I am wondering whether or not the OBD2 in the 96 will be a problem. I have heard the there are ways to Jerry-Rig the TCU into thinking that its attached to an automatic overdrive trans. What about just removing the TCU? How bad will the driving be without overdrive?

well, your 85 transmission won't bolt up to your 96 block.
different tranny, different block, as the 85 was a chev 2.8 v6 and the 96 is a 4.0L straight 6.
nothing else will really work either, 'cept maybe the hood.
