So, I am thinking about getting the 8.8 rear end for the XJ and I was wandering what ya'll would think if i was to buy a 98 explorer and just pull the axle then scrap the rest of the vehicle... good idea? bad? ehh.....

if your ready to spend that much, just buy this:
http://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-476...-assembly.html

Its freaking expensive but if you got the cash you can select everything you want for your axle. Everything from the gear ratio to lockers if you want them. The company will build the axle for you. Or go to the junkyard and find an Exploder and do it yourself.
