8.5 lift help
Ok, I know many people have talked about lift and sye's but I was wanting some input. I am about to order a 6.5 lift and with 2" spacers have an 8.5" lift. I plan to have the LCA drop brackets and a hack and tap SYE. My question is about the rear axle. I am planning of running a front axle until I can afford to pick up a nicer one, but what car should I get mine from with that lift and the hack and tap. My cherokee is a 1989 with auto trans 4.0.
Thanks for the info.

You could get a 9" or a D60 out of a 65-69 f-150 for the rear. For the front you could get a D44 out of a 65-69 f-150 aswell.

with that kinda of lift you are going to have to go junk yard hunting for a shaft even then it may need to be rebuilt so a new shaft maybe cheaper in the long run

Well I didnt plan to change the front unless it is going to be too short for the lift. I guess Ill need to check out a junk yard. Does anyone out there have the same size lift that could tell me about how long the drive shaft would need to be. Then I can go search the junk yard and report back what I find.

you don't need to go back that far to get a 9 inch rear housing. and it will be hard to find anything that will work that is that old
