Default 8.25 rear axle swap

i have a 1998 with the dana 35 and abs and i found a 8.25 without abs can i still use this axle or is it a bad idea thanks?

you wont have ABS anymore,... but its swapable

is the 8.25 a 29 spline axle by chance?

where did you get the 8.5 i am looking for one. I am a newbe and dont really know what will swap.

The problem is your brakes are currently ABS. So you would have to remove your ABS setup and goto a standard Power Booster setup in order to do the swap. As far as I know you can't run ABS front and Non-ABS rear, it just won't work.

after going above 5% of your stock tire hight, abs wont work anyway...

so how dose people put like dana 44 out of school trucks without the abs under their new school jeeps with abs?

i think with a 44 most people do a disc brake conversion. but the 8.25 if definitely strong than the turdy 5.
