68mm TB, stock motor?
Hey guys, I'm in the process of upgrading the intake and exhaust system on my 97. I'm trying to source a 00+ intake manifold and I'm wanting to upgrade my TB.
I do anticipate stroking and am wondering if there would be any adverse effects to upgrading the TB to 68mm on the stock motor. I'd like to futureproof my purchases and would rather not waste my money on a 62mm bore.
Thanks.

On a bone stock engine I think it wouldnt do too much because of the cam, exhaust, and head limitations, I would hold off till you build the stroker, but 62/63MM would be sufficient even with a stroker but its your build I would definately run a wideband O2 with gauge just to be sure youre not leaning out just to be safe. Hope this helps

ditto...no more than 62/63 unless you bore the manifold opening too...once you stroke it, you can still use the 62/63 TB, unless you bore the manifold opening...therefore, you are future proof!...until you find the manifold, you can buy a bored TB (with core exchange) and use a 1" spacer for the extra volume (you may get a whistle)...
