i've read a ton about flex plates problems but cant find anything about manual trans i've got a knock sound when it starts cold that last bout 5 seconds and then sound great and comes again when higher rps dont think its in the motor runs to good to have something coming apart inside havent had a chance to check fly wheel for cracks or bolts yet any other ideas or experiances

 

How's your oil pressure, level and condition?

 

oil is about 5 weeks old and maybe a hundred miles on it preasure not sure the gauge is still sitting on the seat its been a cold bit** here in utah

 

Damn I bet it has. Better make sure you have good oil pressure to the head though.

 

yeah thats a must. it sounds like what the flex plate sound is. you heard of flywheel cracking or comin loose. besides my asphalt tow boat 93 is the newest rig i've ever had. i'm a fan of old sh** its built right
