You should be able to turn the key on-off-on-off-on and get the codes. That would be the place to start. It could be a number of issues (O2 sensor, etc). Here's a shot in the dark (but really quick-n-easy to check): pull the vacuum hose off the fuel pressure regulator. If there's gas in the hose, the regulator's shot, and the engine's sucking gas through the vacuum hose.

*Sigh* Forever and always, the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee are not the same thing.

But anyways, if the OBD1 connector is the same as on the Cherokee, It'll be under the hood next to the computer. If it's not burning fuel I would start with making sure all the cylinders are firing properly; spark plugs, etc. If it was just running rich the exhaust would just smell strong while running.

I checked for a obd plug still can't find one. All cylinders are working fine going to start with the o2 sensor if I can get it out lol. I was told if the jeep don't start or acts up I have to touch 2 wires in the door together? U know what that's about

I'm not sure its a green and black wire. I'm taking the panel off tomorrow and going to see what they are for

I would give you my input but I have no idea about the Grand Cherokee's. You may want to try posting this in the GC section. You might get some more info there since this section is for the XJ's.
Good Luck on you fix.
