4x4 shifter handle

4x4 shifter handle
How does the 4x4 handle come off. I'm not near my jeep now but just remembered I have a cool shifter **** from a previous vehicle that I would like to put on but it is threaded. Oh almost forgot, mine is a 96 XJ. I'm hoping it is threaded but assuming it just pulls off. Anyone ever taken theirs off? Pictures always welcome.

Thats too funny and that is also what I was afraid of. Sounds like my **** wont work without threading the lever. Probably wont do that. Thanks
