So I put it in 4HI the other day and now the light won't turn off. I put in 2WD and the light just stays on. It doesn't seem like the transfer case is still engaged but I'm not sure. But if I mash on the gas the light will turn off then come back on when I let off the pedal. It started doing this ever since I pull the inner fender trim out. I found a vaccuum line coming off the ball not connected to anything and I can't find where it's supposed to go. Can anyone help me out here?

It's a jeep random lights will stay on. Just get in mud gravel or dirt and punch it and see if only 2 or 4 wheels turn. If only 2 turn your good to go.
Honestly though my 89 has lights that will stay on out of no where it's a jeep thing...

I've just never had it happen before and it kinda made me nervous. I drove it all day like that yesterday and didn't have any problems. Should I worry about that vaccuum line?

if it's driving good no problems no extra noises everything checking out I wouldn't.
Do you have any pics of the line? That can help idetify the line.
As the light I wouldn't worry about the light honestly

You probably have a disco-housing. Check the line to your axle and see if it is connected and the lines are intact. Trace the line and see if anything else is disconnected. If you turn tight and the wheels dont bind up then ur not in 4WD.

yup, prolly a disco axle. i have one with a posi-lok cable and if my part time light goes out, i know i have a problem. lol.
you prolly just have a loose connection for the light sensor wires on the disco actuator.
