Default 4x4 Light Fail

Well, it's raining cats and dogs here in Shenco, and despite the lightening and thunder and rain, I went muddin. Well, I was in 2wd and got 'stuck'. Threw her in 4hi, felt the transfer case engage, and tried. Nothin. Put her in 4low, felt it engage again, and then got out. No problem, except I happened to notice that my 4x4 light never came on. Lord knows the 4x4 kicked in, otherwise I woulda never gotten out. Took it on wet pavement and went into 4hi, felt the engage, and drove slowly. I could tell their was more grip, meaning the 4x4 was working. What's up with the light?

Pre-answer Help:

Fluids checked out every oil change, all good
4x4 WAS working
I am not sure what T-case I have. It's a 91 XJ Laredo with the AW4 automatic and the 2hi-4hi-N-4low shifter.

Thanks for the help!

4x4 light is just an indicator basically for the lever, doesnt really tell you if you are in or not. mine is pretty questionable also. unless you really need it for some reason, just ignore it. maybe double check that the bulb isnt out

To do this, I just remove the screws holding the instrument bezel on, then the retaining bolts on that big square holding the lights, correct?

So, just pull a bulb and run on over to Autozone to compare to others. Awesome. I will hopefully get this done tomorrow!

While I'm in there... I might just accidentally bump that Maintenance Required bulb loose...
