Default 4x4 indicator lite not working (2000 Cherokee)

What's the part on the trans axle that usually goes bad? I want to replace it but forgot the name of it. Thanks

I think its the switch on the TC

Someone posted a nice 'how-to" article on checking this switch with a paperclip to be sure it is the problem and not the bulb behind the dash.

I cant find it, hopefully somebody else can help.

Just replaced mine last week or so. Someone sent me this, it will show you how to check whether the issue is due to the bulb behind the dash or the switch on the transfercase. If it is the switch, Rock Auto has it for about $19
Hope this helps. The switch is kind of hard to get to, it is on the front of the T-case,
