my 4x4 indicator next to doesnt work. i mean i comes on very very very rarely. i can feel 4x4 kick in so i know it is working.

is there an indicator for each level of the 4x4 (4x4 part, 4x4 full, 4x4 low)

Kermit, on your Renix style XJ there are 2 separate vacuum lines for your vacuum axle disco system. One runs from the TC to your front axle disco. The other runs from the TC to your "4x4" light switch which is on the passenger side firewall. It has, I believe, a light green or a white colored vacuum line going to it. Then the line goes on down to the 3rd vacuum connector on your axle disco. I'm betting you have a leaking vacuum line since your light is working half the time. The switch itself is probably still good.

 

cool cool thanks i hope thats all it is as how the jeep is now leaking gas again but this time out of one of the injectors

is there any way that you could post pics of the vacuum lines that you speak of
