Default 4x4 has stopped working?

I have a 91 Cherokee Sport and last year the 4x4 worked great. But I tried it the other day when it snowed and the light would not turn on on my dash, and the 4x4 would not engage? I think it might be the actuator but I have not check anything yet. Just wanted to get a few opinions.

Thanks please reply.

Do you have the vacuum axle disconnect on your front axle? If so, you could have a vacuum hose issue. If that's the case I recommend doing the following to eliminate future problems, just like the factory did.

You might wanna check the transfer case linkage.
