Find a 4x4 xj that has been wrecked or blown engine to use for parts.You will need a ton of parts its easier and cheaper to buy a whole jeep then try to get everything from a junkyard.

This is true. Around here an entire XJ is worth about $300-$350 to a scrap yard.

Not.

Worth.

The.

Hassle.

Just keep your eye open for a reasonably intact 4x4, buy it, and fix it up. You'll put FAR less money, time, & labor into it.

If you are interested in learning how to do the swap & learning more about how the vehicle works it could be a good learning tool but otherwise I'd agree with just selling it & finding a 4wd one. That or turn it into a jeepspeed prerunner 2wd beaaaast ;_______;
