4wd swap

who has done a 4wd swap on a 2wd im trying to find me a 2 dr 5 spd cherokee and found a nice 2wd one. is this pretty much a bolt on thing? a t case dive shaft and front axle?

And transmission and console with levers and linkage. Yeah pretty much bolt on, but the years must also match.

Because the tail housing and output shaft on your 2WD Jeep will not bolt up to the transfer Case. You must have a tranny for a 4WD.

I would say that if you have to ask, you might not be willing to put in the effort needed. I know I would be able to do it, but not sure I would want to. But then again, I'm getting ready to fab a D30 under a Ford Ranger... I got a parts XJ for free, but see running XJs for $300 and up. If you just need one for parts to make a 2WD one 4WD, then get the 2WD you want, and collect parts till you have EVERYTHING you need. But be prepared for a ton of work.
