4wd light came on

My 4wd light in the dash came on driving down the road 2wd. Now the light stays on all of the time and the 4wd does not work anymore.
Its an 86, so could in be a vac line? Its raining today or I'd go look my self. I did a search didnt find anything.

does it have the acuator in the front axle?

maybe its shorting somewhere?

I think it has something to do with vacuum because if the car sits off for a few minutes and then i start it up, it takes around 5 to 10 seconds after i start it for the light to come back on.
