4wd light
my part time light works but has been blinking and coming on sometimes while in 2wd. its very random. and today when on the trail in 4wd high and low my part time light was on and then i had a green full time light come on as well. ive never seen this light before.
my question is what is the full time light?
and is this a sign of my 4wd light switch going bad?

The green light (full time) is for 4L. The part time light is 4H. My green has not been working for awhile so let me know what you come up with.

First off, the 4WD light switch is a very common problem on these and is likley your issue. I've replaced this switch on two of my jeeps. If you get under the jeep and unplug the switch, which is on the top of the T-case you can use a paper clip or piece of wire to connect the two wires and bypass the switch, if the light comes on when the key is on you know you have a bad switch. Sometimes you can just get away with cleaning them.
Second, if your shift pattern is 2WD, 4Part Time, 4Full Time, N, 4L you have a NP242 transfer case and the Green light is for the 4Full Time setting. If your shift pattern is 2WD, 4Part Time, N, 4L you have a NP231 transfer case and only have part time, so the part time light should com on in both 4 High and 4 Low. The Green light should never appear even though there is a spot in the dash for it.
