Default 4WD to 2WD, and yes I ment to type it like that

so heres my dilemma , i have a blown t case, and my jeep has been in the side of my house for 2 months, the township is pissed! and i have till the end of this month to fix it, the problem is i dont have the money for a t case, so my question is, how cheap is it to make it 2WD for the time being so that it moves??

Put a 2wd trans in the thing. Might have to get a new rear driveshaft. It would probably be cheaper to get a tcase. Around here at the junkyards they can be had for about 100 bucks.

i wasnt sure if the trans was the same cause if i could drop the grenaded t-case and throw in a 2WD shaft (which i assume is longer and has something on the end to mount to the trans) that would be great.

Little far away. Shipping would probably be too high.

Not possible.. a 2wd trans would be required.

What transfer do you need.. 231 or 242?

Will it try to pull at all with the Tcase ya have now ?
There are at least ten on ebay right now between $150 and 225 with free shipping..... just make sure ya get one with the right # of splines on its input shaft as yours... pull yours and count them to be sure. You can have yours out in under a hour.

If ya cant do any of those, towstrap it to a friends house to keep em off ya.

hmmm, this might be a long shot,... but,... what if you "Hack and tap" the output shaft of the transmission and put a yoke on it? Like the Rubicon express SYE "Hack and Tap",...

As long as u find a yoke that will fit over the splines, i think u'd be good to roll. At least move it around so the homeowners association will get off your back.
