Default 4wd to 2wd conversion, weird eh?

So I'm seriously thinking about turning one of my XJs into 2wd. Before everyone starts pulling their hair out, hear me out. I have 2 91s. One has a 4.5" lift and working 4wd (unfortunately with the 242 TC) while the other has no lift, saggy springs, etc. as well as broken 4wd. I mostly use the stocker for traffic driving. The stock rig also has wobbles over 55 (same with the lifted, but I expect that). I'm contemplating pulling the 4wd gear (if I can) especially if it may relieve some of my wobble issues. I do live in Maine, so it may kind of suck, but I always have my other jeep for worse weather. If I pull the gear, can I also remove the 231 TC and put it in my lifted rig? I'm just brainstorming. Maybe I should just work on getting the 4wd working on both.

Opinions?

Am Not Sure, But I Do Know That If You Take The Drive Shaft From The Transfer Case Off Of The Transmission It Will Leak tranny Oil Cuase Nothing Is Covering The Hole Where the Transfer Case Drive Shaft Was At , Soo I Would Leave it On As My Opinion.

if anything, just swap transfer cases and leave the front driveshaft out of the stocker. there you have it 2wd haha.

Is the 242 lousey enough that it would be worth swapping in the 231?

the dummy 2wd axle won't solve your wobbles, neither will just removing your front driveshaft.

check/replace your: 8 upper/lower control arm bushings, all 4 ball joints, all tie-rod ends, and most importantly (usually) your track bar and it's lower bushing. also fork over the cash to have at least your front tires balanced.

also you say your 4wd on the stocker is broken, but you want to use the 231 from it in your lifted xj?? be more specific as to what is broken...
