4 wheel drive question

Default 4 wheel drive question
I have a 2001 cherokee, I put on lift yesterday to check to see if 4 wd drive was working. When in 4wd lo all wheels turned, but when in 4wd hi only rear turned whats broken, how do I fix it.

sounds like it has a part time 4wd system.. in low, the front stay engaged... in 4hi.. it waits for a slip/loss of traction

so not broke.. just too hi tech
