Default 4.0L Strait Six an interference engine???

Does anybody know whether the 4.0 L strait six is an interference engine or not? I haven't been able to find any claim one way or the other.

maybe some came swap issues
to much lift or advance would be a bigger problem on a low clearance motor

I just changed the timing belt on my Volvo, which does have an interference engine, and if the belt breaks, or more likely slips or derails due to a failing tensioner or water pump bearing, the engine is trash. I know my Jeep (with 150K on it) uses a timing chain, but otherwise I wondered if it had the same issue. Apparently not, which is comforting.

If your volvo has a B230 engine like in the 240, 740, or 940 it's non-interference.

The 960, 760, 850 and all the new front wheel drive stuff doe have interference engines, but it's not a problem if you change the belt, tensioners, and water pump when you need to. Lots of people are out driving around on borrowed time with their belts and never have a problem pop up. It's nothing to lose sleep over and the risk is lower than most people worry about.

Bent a intake valve by contact them the number 3 piston. Purchased rebuilt head, then bent the exhaust valve on the number 1 piston. Thoughts?
