I have an 89 xj w/ 206,000 mi. No matter how hot or cold it is outside it fires up instantly but, after an hour or two of driving it will out of no where start running horribly- Backfiring, sputtering, and i can only go about 3 miles an hour.
After letting it sit and cool off completely, it will fire back up and rune fine but only for like an hour. I was guessing a fuel delivery problem but i have no idea really.
Any help will be greatly appreciated

Hmm kind of sounds like a fuel pump issues most fuel pumps that are going bad will run great then after awhile they will die out and if you shut them off to cool down for awhile they will start right back up good as new.
When the jeep starts acting like that does it die at a stop or will it just idle poorly?
