Default 4.0 stroker quest..?

Not that my engine is going, but I plan on keeping my keep since I already dumper enough money into it.

So I started doing research on 4.0 Stroker and kits.

I was wondering if I purchased a stroker kit, would this be the same as an engine rebuild?

anyone with experience that can give me some good info?

I have seen some kits that just offer the crank and rods, and bearings, for it to be a complete lower end rebuild you will need the pistons and rings, timing chain and gears also to be a rebuild kit,oil pump if needed, then the head needs to be rebuilt

A stroker kit consist of longer rods and a offset ground crank. If you are going to put that much effort into the engine you should have the block bored at least .030" Your local machine shop should be able to hook you up.

A stroker is a 4.0L that uses a crankshaft and connecting rods from a 4.2L (aka 258 CID) and appropriate sized pistons to match the increased stroke of the crank and rods. Boring the cylinders is not manditory.

Yeah I did some search, and found the part list it comes with..

I was just wondering, when my engine does go,, id like to take a step towards building a stroker,, but at the same time re-build the engine
