just making a play tow , no crazy rock crawling or anything, and also will drive in on the road Is it worth $200 more for a 4.5 lift and are there any future probs with a taller lift, no tires yet so can do 31s or 33s and dont mind trimming fenders

Honestly, 3" is a good start point, but you'll be wanting 4.5" not too long after. I'm there now. I got my 3" from Rusty's about 1 1/2 years ago and am itching for an extra 1.5". Best thing with 4.5" though is that with minor trimming you can easily clear 33's. and won't look like you've got monster tires like it would with only 3". I say go ahead and plop down the extra $200. You'll most likely be doing it one day anyway.

i went 4.5 and love it i run 32's no rubbing and the tuck in, nicely plans for longarm in the future..also the kit comes with new lower arms w/poly bushings which are nice to have considering most jeeps need ca bushings anyways

Go with 4.5...I like the 4.5 inch Rustys Kit I went with. Running 32's with no fender trimming or rubbing.

I too vote for the 4.5". I also got the Rusty's 4.5" running 32" BFG M/T KmII's had to trim a bit. I do more over land stuff then rock crawling.
You can get 33's under that 4.5" lift with more trimming. If you are going to do that lift and if the kit only comes with the lower control arms. I highly suggest getting the uppers along with it.
My only complaint about the 4.5" lift is I can't stand the rough ride of the short arm kit.
If you decide to go with a Rusty's lift. Talk to Zack. Been dealing with him for a while. I have never had any issues (like some might say they have). 4.5" with long arm is dope!!!!

My first cherrokee i use rough country 4.5 it was only like $500 but i saw some guy a t a local car show and he had rusty 8inch I sold my cherokee then a few years later i bought my curent cherokee i went with rough country again this time 6.5 and i love it. that cost about $1000 if you can just save some money and go bigger caz your gunna do it eventually

id go with a 4.5" lift. thats what i got and i love it. im running 32x11.5s and its looks sick lol the tires do rub alittle when i turn hard so im goingg to have the trim the fenders a little

You're actually just rubbing on the bumper caps, so that should be all you need to trim if you don't really want to cut into the fenders.

are you sure???? i'm running 32s on mine and if you look at my avatar pic i only rub on the rear under full flex or ever so lightly on the control arms when i cut the wheel hard my bumper gave me gobs of room up front...ooh thought: what offset rims cause that can affect alot on tire clearance?

^ all tires are different.. im running 30x9.50's right now when measured against my buddys 31x10.50s are nearly identical (and yes i measured)

Might have more driveline vibration issues to track down with the 4.5. I'd go for it, but it's something to be aware of.

you are right....in MY past bfg a/ts and lesser brands run small, swampers,mickeys,any compitition brand tire run bigger...my hankooks are really wide and only about 31.5 tall but rims play a big part in it i run stock 15X8 wrongler wheels...yeah buy a transfer drop kit and you're fine
