OKAY, HERE'S THE REALLY USEFUL INFO:
A steering damper only hides (maybe) the effect; it does nothing to fix the root cause.
Remember... The steering damper is not a cause of death wobble.

word. I hate when told that... most the time the search function doesn't bring a damn thing up that I'm REALLY looking for. Or I have to read 40 posts to get something simple.

Read everything you can on this subject. Most of what you read will be opinions. there is a lot of "fixed" the problem, but it happens again. This is because you thought the first worn item you came across was the cause of DW. Causes of DW are any worn, improper or mis-adjusted component realated to suspension and steering. DW itself causes damage to other parts and this damage can mask the real causes.

Don't mean to be a post *****, but this is too funny, several people who wrote in clearly did not read all of the previous posts.
Anyway thanks for the laughs, I also agree this should be on Franks "wall of shame"

check all bushings..then check more.. there is like 35 bushings under the front end.. if they look worm at all..thats cause they are... start with swap bar bushings and control arms..then check your tie rod ends if they look like they are leaking grease...they are...and they need to be changed...please take care of your jeep i might need to buy it one day...you never know
