35" too much?
my friend offered me his 35 inch tires that go on a 15 by 12.5 wheels for an awesome price that i cant pass up. the problem is i only have a 2 inch lift and stock fenders. will i have to up the lift and/or cut the fenders. and will i need wheel spacers to spot any bad rubbing that might happen. im sure i have some work to do.
Heres my '93 on 35x14.50 boggers.. The suspension is all stock! its got 15x10 Mickey Thompson wheels on it with 4" back spacing. Just to give you an idea.. But yes you will have to trim your fenders. I dont take my Jeep to the woods but do drive it from time to time and how it sets it only rubs the inner part of the front fenders(dog house) if the wheels are cut deep. It depends on what back spacing those 12" wide wheels you got have. If i were you, id sell those 12" wide wheels and buy you some 7" or 8" wheels with no more then 4" back spacing. With a 2" lift you could pull it off with 35"s and trimmed fenders. Just have to bump stop it properly. Wouldnt have much up travel but decent down travel.

yea with those big meats on your rig you will be really pushing that stock gearing you have. and if you have a D30 in the rear then i will say NO!!! D30 will handle 33's at most but not 35's. if you have a Chy 8.25 then yea you can, BUT it will run like a dog down the road..

you mean a D35 in the rear, D30's are only front axles

With 33"s theres gonna be a need to rear gear also. 35"s arent gonna make that big of a diffrence. truss the D30, bump up to 30 spline chromoly axles and a good locker. As far as the rear try an luck up on a D44 or get an 8.8 out from under an explorer. Thats what im fixin to do to mine with some 4.56 gears. All that will be afterwards of the lift.

don't waste your money regearing stock axles, if you're gonna run 33's, you'll eventually go to 35's anyways. then you should replace at least your rear.
i'm running 36 iroks that actually measure close to 37's on stock axles and gearing. d44 rear. sure, it's not as quick, but it's not that bad either.
i say if you have anything better than a d35, run the 35's you've got. just modify to fit.
