Not true, you can run 4.88s on a 8.25, when I first got my Cherokee I was told that 4.56s were the lowest gears available for the Chrysler 8.25, but after looking around I found there are quite a few gear manufactures that offer 4.88 ring and pinion sets for the 8.25.

dana 30's are NOT ok with 35's.
the unit bearings don't hold up, and even with 297's, it will break.
a dana 30 isn't worth investing $$$ in for the better shafts etc. for less $$$, you can go full width.
the only people who think 35's are OK on dana 30's are people who don't daily drive them, or don't abuse them much.

I built a high dollar 30 just to prove that you can run a big tire no problem. Everyone kept telling me it couldn't be done. Now I'm doing up a 44 to run 37s
