If you are reffering to the rusty's budget boost it is actually a two inch lift. I just added this to my 3 inch add-a-leaf yesterday. I have stock wheels and my tires measure 32 and 1/4 inches tall. this is what it looks like.

Oh, and if you got the rusty's shocks that came with your 3", then you shouldn't need shocks. I didn't. But you may want to consider front brake line extensions. mine are tight and Im going have to get some.

No Im using the rustys shocks that came with my three inch kit. they work fine. But if you do any serious wheeling then you probably will want to cinsider front brake line extensions. And if you do the front you may as well go ahead and do the back. I dont hit too many trails, just the beach. So I shouldn't have to.

The same thing crossed my mind to add to my 3 inch lift but would I need new control arms if my 3 inch kit didnt come with them?

no you wont, but without longer control arms you might not be able to get it fully aligned. also the factory arms limit the axle down travel at 4.5 or 5". if you look at the aftermarket ones, they have a kick in them about 2/3's the way down. thats to clear the shock mount i do believe

Rusty sells a kit for adjusting your brakelines a couple inches for $10, I'm thinking of either going that route or copying their design and making my own. You might want to look into those.

Sorry for bringin up the old thread! But I would like to know some more info as well,

3" Rough Country is what im running, and ordered a 2" Budget boost, Dan, is everything still running ok with your setup? And did your sway bar reach?

I will add control arms, trackbar, brake line extensions and disconnects down the road..but am I able to run the 5" with the way im setup now?

ummm im pretty sure stock control arms and the trackbar cant take 5 inches of lift. you will definatly need longer brake lines if you plan on actually getting some articulation. you will need longer swaybar endlinks, so might as well get disconnects. plus you will most likely need an SYE with anything above 3" of lift. and with an SYE comes the need for a new driveshaft, so add that to the list.

Dan your jeep looks just like mine!!! it's an 01 classic and i have the 3" plus the 2" BB as well.

All mine has is the RC 3" lift and 2" shackles and 2" spacers, i didn't have to change control arms or trac bar or anything else (i did buy the steering stablizer to help with the bump steer though) BUT i do no trail riding and mine is 2wd so idk if it would be the same for a 4wd

You can get away with 5" of lift with just doing a TC drop... not a full SYE/DS swap... but if you got the money you might as well do the SYE/DS now... I am going to have to run mine with a TC drop for a while so I can save up for a SYE/DS combo... but that will be part of my Stage II lift build... quite a ways down the road...
