Default 2WD Driveshaft Removal

I am trying to remove my driveshaft off a 1999 2wd xj and I took the 4 bolts off but it will barely budge. Any thoughts?

Are the u-joint caps rusted in place? Maybe get a small prybar in between the u-joint and yoke and see if you can break it loose.

It's just stuck there. They all do it. Block the wheels so it don't roll and pry the joint loose.

probably just rusted caps like they said ^ and a dried out slip yolk is probably making it worse. That's what my 96 was like when I took it apart the first time. I had to stick a big screwdriver up in there behind the u-joint and bang it to pry the thing forward. Careful though, when it lets loose it's probably gonna swing down and attack ya!

to replace the output seal you need a 1, 1/4 inch socket and a fatttty *** breaker bar, i tried replacing my output seal, i ended up giving up when i had a 3 foot cheeter and a floor jack pushing up on the breaker bar it still wouldnt move the nut it would just lift the jeep up, you dont need to replace the output seal unless its leaking really bad
