Well been doing research for this high compression mini-stroke for a little while any one else have this setup? if the crosshatch on the engine is good can i skip over the over bore? goal is to put a 232 twelve weight crank in place of the 242 (4.0) looking for mid 9's on the compression ratio to low 10's.

Sorry my friend but yes i am trying to put a 232 crank in a 4.0 block numbers come out to a mild 4.2 with high compression. Anybody attempt this od-ball build in the past?
Cool guess ill be the first

The 232 has the same rod lynth as the 242, but The difference in stroke is 3.5-3.41 = 0.090 this would put the piston .032-.048 higher up in the bore than the stock (im not good at math) crank giving more compression for the same package. in effect would be able to run 93 octane an yield better efficiency an maybe power than the popular 4.6.. don't get me wrong i like the build of the 4.6 utilizing the 258 crank but am looking for a better bore stroke package think the term is square bore? no under or over? im still trying to piece this info together so don't take this as fact. just dont know if to go with a 4 counter weight or 12. 12= strong an heavy, 4=light an not as stout. From what im seeing it might actually out power the 4.6 due to its efficiency with a better cam.

well dont really know? pretty shure it would work with the proper understanding of the renix design sensors ect. maybe a renix guru will chime in. any thing can be done with the right money but this build could be done for $200 not including your cam of choice of course
the secrete would be to finding one that would complement the build of the HO4.2

I too will be watching this. I am planning on building a stroker motor for my YJ next year, but this is interesting and may change my plans. For now I am still looking for a dirt cheap 4.0. Already have an AX15. For now the 2.5 will continue to struggle away turning 35s. 4.56 gears are waiting to go in (that will help- if I wasn't planning on getting rid of the 2.5 I would have gone 4.88 gears).

thanks for the interest
hope to figure out or find two 232 cranks 1.four counter weight 2. twelve counter weight. Just need to figure out the pro-con of each eying the twelve because of the balance aspect.
Any one have the 4.6 an what harmonic balancer did you use?
