Default 2017 transmission question

Hi,
I'm very interested in buying a 2017 Cherokee limited.
It only has 17k miles on it and drives and runs great.
But my neighbor has just given me warning about transmission problems in Jeep Cherokees.
Any validity to his statement?
Thanks.

The rumors are not unfounded. Have a look over in the KL forum (we're all XJ here... old Cherokees). Here's a list of threads dealing with the new Cherokee (KL) transmission...

Thank you. But when I click that link it says there are no matches.
Any more specifics that'll give me what I'm looking for?
I like this vehicle and the seller says it has a 100K/7 year powertrain warranty so no worries.
?
Thanks
