2006 grand with a 4.7
Are these good engines? Spotted a nice GC with 100k. 4.7. V8...are these dependable? It looks pretty well maintained

No, I work at a Chrysler dealer and we see more cracked heads and head gaskets failed on these than you see trees outside. I would never personally own one, they're notorious for head issues.

I have an 04 GC with the 4.7HO with 213,000 mi. and one of the best engines I have ever owned does not use a drop of oil between changes (6mo, 6,000 mi.). I have all service records from mine (all done at dealerships) and it has never had any of those issues before I bought it 5 yrs ago.

All the ones I've noticed for sale either have motor or transmission issues & all have around 100k miles. It could be owner neglect causing the problems.
