2004 WJ... what to snag before i scrap it?
picking up a 04 WJ that was wrecked on the drivers side... its 4x4 inline 6 auto... getting it to stick the motor in my 2000... i may already have the transmission sold... but what else should i grab? im gonna get the axles of course but probly sell them... unless theres something i should use on the front axle... read something about spindles i think? any steering components i should grab? i know u can from a ZJ but what about the back disc brakes from a WJ on my D44? possible? they still run the 231 in a 04? if not then better off selling it off or? im only giving a grand for it... everthing on the pass side is fine was all body hit on the drivers... leather seats and all... didnt think it was a bad deal... the motors on car-part.com alone was $850... thanks guys!

What do you want for the leather seats all of them? I know winston427 is do some trading with you. Maybe I can get him to pick them up for me and give you the money. What color are they?

i dont know if this is much help but on the show trucks they did the wj brake swap onto a zj on the 5 grand cherokee project and iirc they went into pretty good detail.

on the wj front brake swap, you use the knuckles, rotors and calipers from the wj. you use the xj ball joints and wheel bearings. a .230"-.250" is required below the wheel bearing to get the u-joint on the same axis as the ball joints. the wj rotors get redrilled to the 5x4.5 bolt pattern. some people have had to shim the caliper bracket to get it dead center over the rotor. when you do this swap, it requires using the wj steering setup, which i feel is an upgrade. everything is bigger. the rear brake backing plate mounts different than the zj/xj. not that it couldn't fit, but would require a fair amount of work. good luck and nice find.

If you are interested in selling parts and if it has the factory tow hitch, I may be interested in the hitch wiring harness depending on the price.

most are at $200 in my area here... the cheapest was $75... most of these places you would probly have to pull it... but ill pull this one of course and send it with winston... my front seats stay pretty dry so without the drivers there really no point in me messing with it... i may see if the back seats would work with little fab since they get soaked all the time (chopped top)... but yeah i guess ill sell it... mean ill have to go pick it up before winston comes too... i got money down on it now so its mine...
