So this guy who my dad knows owns valenti dealerships and hes been searching for what I told him i was looking for: 97-01 Cherokee Sport with a C8.25 rear axle and a NP231 transfer case. So he calls my dad up and says he has an 04 Jeep cherokee sport with 80k miles on it and the specs I requested. *facepalm* they never made a 2004 box style regular cherokee sport, but this guy says otherwise. i saw a picture of it and it is a cherokee sport, but where is this guy getting 2004 from? I dont want to get a cherokee thats an "04" and find out later that a rough country lift thats is for a cherokee up to 2001, wont fit on my weird "2004"

2001 was absolutely the last year for the XJ

Give the seller a call to confirm the year.

2006 I think for the Chinese Jeep 2500. Remember, the 2500 started as the XJ, so it's possible that it may actually meet the standards. If there's one thing about the Cherokee, it's that it basically didn't change in the decades it was produced.

Anyway, pics would help. It's probably a typo, but if it's not a Liberty or something, then you can identify a Jeep 2500 by the front. A WJ/WK grille with rounded, slanted holes, and XK/KK style headlights.

On my phone otherwise I'd provide a link. Check out the Wikipedia page. Also someone from Beijing posted a thread on here.
