Default 2001 XJ Speaker problem

Hey guys, trying to get my passenger side speakers all functioning. I got the door off and the speaker out, no voltage to the wires at all, so I need to rewire it. I was wondering, though, how you guys rewired it? Everything seems to be electrical taped together through the boot, and into the dash into the back of the head. Do I need to disassemble my dashboard to get at the entire bundle?

I have some 12 gauge wire, I figure I can wire it now and use that later for some better speakers when I have the money to upgrade those.

A lot of guys get the new wire, tape it to the old wires that are poking out of the speaker bay, and pull the old wires put through the head unit bay. That way the new wires will take the exact same path as the old ones. Then cut and cap the new wires to the head unit. Call it a day

Check the plugs on the OEM speakers. I ran new wires to mine and they still didn't work.... tried soldering the wires directly to the speaker (bypassing the stock speaker plug) and Bob's-your-uncle, they work like a champ.

I'm just trying to figure out how to deal with the multiple bundles of wiring. It kids like everything is electrical taped together in different spots.
