Default 2001 jeep cherokee running rough

i have a 2001 jeep cherokee that when it first starts it runs smooth..2 mins later it starts to rev up rev down might even stall, runs real rough, then sounds like a bad lifter aswell..but the tick will go away at times to..everything ive read is the crank postion sensor..which i did replace..but it was a cheap one from ebay..guessing i should prolly get one from a dealer....problem tho is where the cps plugs in to the electical connector previous owner cut that off so it has to be straight wired in..i wired it exactly how it was before..i dont no if previous owner had it correctly wired tho and i cant find a diagram..just lookin for info on wiring and also if anyone has any opinion on what else could cause it to run like this

Doesn't sound CPS related. Can you post a video of what is going on?

That code is for intermittent lose of the crank position sensor. You need to focus on that circuit. You said the PO deleted the connector, what type of electric connection have you made? Wire nuts, crimps etc? The ECU is intermittenly losing signal from the CPS. Check all your wiring and connections. Contact cleaner is your friend. If all else fails and circuit looks good maybe try a Mopar CPS.
