Default 2001 Jeep Cherokee blown motor...grrr.

I plow and commute with my jeep. It's in great shape so I want to buy a rebuilt motor and replace anything I should instead of taking it off my old motor.
I don't know what should be reused and what should be replaced or upgraded.

Any advice is appreciated!!!

So what let go in the motor. Throw a rod, blow a head gasket, spun bearings?

I heard a rapping sound and saw oil on the ground under the motor. Called AAA and I'm waiting to hear back from my mechanic.
