Howdy yall,
my cherokee was acting funny for a few days before it stalled out and would not start back up. It cranks all day but no start. Before when it had stalled it had started right back up no problems. All the gauges drop but radio and lights stay on. Havent been able to start it since. I swapped some fuses and relays and giggled the pcm wires. Still no start no bus. Disconnected the CPS and turned on...still reads no bus. What are y'alls thoughts?

 

I cannot hear the fuel pump prime...have checked the grounds I know of and the battery terminals are good and right and brand new. I may be missing a ground??
I unplugged the pcm connectors...plugged back in and the gauges came back for 30 seconds or so and shut back off...still reading no buss...and still crank, no start.
cannot read any codes because not getting input to reader

 

Also, the last time it stalled I was running low on gas...2 miles or so on the light...so I filled it up with 5 gallons an still nothing.
drivers side door doesnt really latch and there may be something weird there???
I'm lost lol

 

Im pretty sure you can still test fuel pressure without the engine turning over, but im not sure. Sounds like maybe your fuel pump went bad?

 

The way it stalled out made me think fuel pump too...not sure if that would throw no bus?? Also weird that I wouldn't be able to read codes if just the pump..right?
from what I've read...bad cps...the fuel pump still primes.
but bad computer or other relay amd maybe not?
